If you’ve not seen it yet, True Blood is the best show of the new season. It’s a drama about vampires in a small Louisiana town, but in this case they approach it somewhat seriously — what would happen if vampires actually did exist and “came out of the coffin” as they did on this show? How would society react and adapt to this new world?
Did I mention that Anna Paquin’s character can read minds? Or that her main love interest is a vampire who fought in the civil war (fun to watch the town rednecks try to figure out where they stand on that one). Or that the hot new drug in town is V (vampire blood)? Plus it’s stuffed full of wonderful colourful characters, much like Alan Ball’s previous show Six Feet Under but less sad. Sex and danger, interesting characters, great plot — what more can you want?

The biggest problem I have with vampires is that they are easily shown by mathematics not to exist, otherwise the world’s population would be vampires in very short order.
I DARE YOU TO SIMULATE IT

I reject your mathematical proof (which you didn’t even care to provide!!). It depends on the probability at which vampires are staked, the birth rate of the humans population, the rate at which vampires require feeding, and also the rate at which they convert a human to another vampire.
You *must* conceded that there are some variation of those variables which produce a stable outcome. For example if a vampire is never staked, humans breed at 150%, vampires feed at 25%, and conversions are 0% — this would produce an outcome which you have falsely claimed to be impossible.
HOWEVER I ACCEPT YOUR DARE. STAY TUNED FOR A PERL BASED VAMPIRE WORLD SIMULATOR WHICH ALLOWS USER INPUT.
