The next time the outside temperature equals my odometer will likely be if the sun suddenly goes supernova. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen.

Woo, new car fun!
The height and dimensions either point to a crossover, or a light SUV. The eyebrows over the headlights should be a dead giveaway on it, but I’m not up-to-date on the latest models of vehicles, alas.
The chiseled lines and “Sport” badge make me think Dodge Caliber, but the panel seam where the bumper meets the front quarter panel isn’t in the right location. Doesn’t seem to match any Fords or GMs (headlights look wrong), nor is it pointy enough to be a Mazda CX-7.
Moving on, I see some similarities to the Honda CR-V. The headlamps seem to match, as does the aforementioned seam, along with the hood. But they don’t appear to have the right colour paint, nor a “Sport” package.
What have I missed? Ah yes, Nissan and Toyota. It’s definitely not a Nissan, and… ooh, looks like a RAV4 to me! And the wheels even match.
Very nice! So is this to complement the RTmobile, or to replace it?

Er, yeah… it’s a Rav4. 2007 Sport edition in “Flint Mica” colouring. I’m kind of offended that you’d think I’d stoop so low as to buy an American made car!
This replaces the RTmobile, which served me fine for 7 years but was getting to the point where it needed money put into it to keep on going. More money than it was worth, I mean.

It’s not that I think you would buy an American made car - perish the thought! But from that angle it reminded me of somethind Dodge-y. Heh, American, Dodgey, get it?
Anyways, I only spent about 20 minutes looking through various mfg’s websites to figure out what type of car it was. Honestly, I was not stalking you, nor do I know that your license plate is SIMYRULZ. In related news, are there any particular weekends in February/March that may or may not be good for visiting you ${AMERICAN_INFIDELS}? I feel bad after the cancelled fall trip, and still need to visit you - it’s been a while. Once I fight off this plague cold, I might be ready for some visitin’.
Hopefully the Skippymobile makes it to a good 12-15 years before we tire of it. The little lady wants to get her Master’s degree sometime, and new car + her not working for a while wouldn’t be a good combo. We finally paid this stupid thing off (4 years), I don’t want to have to buy another one in 3 years :-) Or was the RTmobile used when you purchased it?

i’m a bit surprised, though; i would have figured you to go for a hybrid.

aph, persons to whom RT is related REELY REELY wanted us to have something with 4WD after our driving-home-in-the-ice fiasco, and picked this out as something they REELY REELY wanted to specifically help us out with. So, uh, ok.
