I just spent the last hour debugging a script error, the cause turned out to be this little snippet written by yours truly:

What makes anyone think that more troops would make much of an improvement in Iraq?  In my opinion, no amount of soldiers can stop suicide bombers looking to massacre pretty much anyone outside their religion.You guard the pipelines, they bomb the police station.  You guard the police station they bomb the hospital.  You guard the hospital they bomb the market.  You guard the market they bomb the mosques.  You guard the mosques they bomb the bus stations.  You guard the bus stations they bomb cafés.

It seems to me that unless you’re talking about instituting a police state, no amount of troops will be effective against the sort of violence inherent to this new worldwide trend of Islamic murder and thuggery.

According to a Washington Post report, Microsoft is now admitting their co-operation with the NSA.

Cherry says the NSA’s involvement can help counter the perception that Windows is not entirely secure and help create a perception that Microsoft has solved the security problems that have plagued it in the past. “Microsoft also wants to make the case that [the new Windows] more secure than its earlier versions,” he said.

Or it could lead to increased distrust around the world about the security of Microsoft products.  After all, from the perspective of foreigners the job of the NSA is to spy on them — NSA collaboration in Microsoft closed-source software means potential for being tracked.

I just finished watching a brilliant movie, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.  I stumbled upon it having never heard of it before in any capacity but I was quite pleasantly surprised by it.  Amazing acting (especially by Robert Downey Jr), clever dialogue, and a self-referential plot that keeps you guessing.
