This weekend my good friend geekpdx came to town, and he brought lots of cool toys for me to play with, such as…
A home theatre system! Oh yes folks, that’s right :I’ve got a home theatre now! Featuring a digital projector, screen, speakers, and wireless audio transmission I can use my GameCube, PS2, or my laptop with arse-kicking quality.
Getting it all together was an act of heroism, but thankfully geekpdx is as handy as he is suave, and “we” fashioned a tripod mount for the projector out of $8.00 worth of metal from the local hardware store and a $5.00 hacksaw.
I also made a big purchase this weekend. I got a Sony…
…speaker set! What were you thinking? The PS3 isn’t even out yet and I’m not nearly crazy enough to buy one.

You forgot to mention our experimentation with the Swingerz lifestyle…
And that mount rules. I’m going to build a universal mount for my own tripod using the same (perhaps refined) design. The “universality” will come from using slightly longer and correctly sized (m4) slotted metal arms that don’t require potentially-drilling-hole-in-hand customizing theatrics.
Good times!
