Every day, multiple people post listings for free moving boxes on craigslist it’s a really good way to save some time and money moving. Much better than the former solution, which was to go to the liquor store and take what they were willing to get rid of — those were all annoying tiny boxes. Craigslist even lets you create an RSS feed for a search term, so you can be updated quickly and be the first one to respond to a free moving box post.
Of course, now that I have the boxes means that I have to pack them. Crap.

If you don’t already have one, buy or borrow a tape gun. You won’t be disappointed.
After packing, you can also use it to tape things for fun. A taped-up cereal box or a strip of tape all the way around a roll of toilet paper are always fun bits of tape mischief (depending on the victim’s sense of humor).

geekpdx: oh crud, if only you had mentioned this approximately 1 hour ago, we could have gotten that instead. Oh well, we don’t have THAT many boxes to pack, it’ll be alright.

You miss the point. It’s not just about packing. Tape gun is a lifestyle!

If you need more boxes and you’re planning on coming up to Vancouver in the [immediate future], then we have a bunch of banker’s boxes and a couple of large hanging-wardrobe-style boxes (with the metal bars for them).
But you probably have enough boxes already, so n/m…

skippy: thanks, but I think I’m a bit too busy with getting up to speed with the new job and also packing to make it up to Vancouver anytime soon. Thanks though!
